You've got a good start, but this is a very broad topic. There will be opportunity in class this week to get some feedback from others on your topic to help you refine it.
Depending on your final topic, you may also find JSTOR and Project MUSE useful. They don't have current research, but your topic has likely been explored for many years and there will be information there.
